Thank you for uploading Image:Imac.jpg. Please give the source of the image on the corresponding image page. It is a good idea to cite all your image sources primarily for copyright reasons. Thanks in advance. --Ellmist 07:48, 21 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Thanks, I've added source to all of the pictures I took. Eurleif 13:46, 21 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Very helpful. Thank you. --Ellmist 01:22, 23 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Image markup[edit]

Could you not tag images as thumbnails if they're less than 250-300px? The magnifying glass will be misleading, since clicking on it leads to no magnification. Thanks. --Jiang 06:55, 6 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Thanks, but using right or left doesn't seem to allow captions which leads to really annoying markup with floating divs or tables. Wouldn't it be better to lie about it being a thumbnail than to make editing harder and possibly create a nonstandard look? Eurleif 16:59, Apr 6, 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for the edits[edit]

Thanks for cleaning up Weight Watchers. I guess my fingres got ahead of me. ;-> Jake 23:51, 13 Apr 2004 (UTC)

  • You're welcome, though I didn't do very much. I'll try to do some original writing now, so thanks will be deserved. :) Eurleif 03:25, Apr 14, 2004 (UTC)

A Thank You[edit]

Thanks for edition a page previously edited by me and giving useful comment. Ehsan 5:48, 19 Apr 2004 (UTC)

You're welcome, though I didn't do too much. You may want to look at theManual of Style, it's a very good resource for learning about various Wikipedia style conventions. Also, you can sign your name with ~~~ for just your name, or ~~~~ for name and date. Eurleif 05:55, Apr 19, 2004 (UTC)

Which makes more sense to you??[edit]

Which of these makes more sense to you??

  1. What sweetheart was prior to when I changed it, namely, a re-direct to girlfriend
  2. What sweetheart now is; namely, a dis-ambiguation page; while female sweetheart and male sweetheart are re-directs to girlfriend and boyfriend respectively.

Choice #2 obviously makes more sense to me. 66.32.138.124 02:10, 24 Apr 2004 (UTC)

I agree, a disambig makes more sense. Eurleif 02:31, Apr 24, 2004 (UTC)

Now, however, I've been thinking about something that is even better that I didn't think of back at that time. Go to Talk:Boyfriend for what it is. Please note that Wikipedia is not a dictionary. 66.245.64.202 19:39, 10 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Pork rind[edit]

Leif, I removed the stub message by accident. It's still a stub. I put the message back. Thanks for pointing this out to me. I hope more people will contribute to the article. There is much more to the subject, but I don't have time to work on it right now. H2O 03:40, 24 Apr 2004 (UTC)

I think we were both editing at the same time, because I had an edit conflict and I guess I saved the last version without the stub message. H2O 03:49, 24 Apr 2004 (UTC)

ASED..?[edit]

You have an error in your QWERTY image. By the way, you may want to offset the A and Z rows to more naturally reflect the layout on a keyboard. Thanks Dysprosia 05:32, 10 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

  • Whoa, thanks a lot for catching that one. I think indenting the keys might look odd without having Shift and Caps Lock there, though; maybe I'll add them. Eurleif
    • But they're not part of the layout: some QWERTY keyboards put Control where Caps Lock is, normally. Some find this works better. Dysprosia 05:49, 10 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
      • True, but this is more authentic to old-fashioned typewriters which used QWERTY, and it uses less space. Eurleif 05:57, May 10, 2004 (UTC)
        • It matters less, I suppose. Go, work your creative fingers! :) Dysprosia 06:01, 10 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Unverified images[edit]

Hi! Thanks for uploading the following image:

I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use gfdl if you release it under the GNU Free Documentation License, fairuse if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know at my talk page where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much. Peter O. (Talk, automation script) 21:53, Dec 10, 2004 (UTC)

P.S. You can help tag other images at User:Yann/Untagged_Images. Thanks again.

Sorry about that, I've added a GFDL tag to it. Eurleif 20:57, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Of Scandinavian descent?[edit]

Hi, I noticed your Scandinavian-sounding first name, and couldn't resist asking whether you might just happen to be of Scandinavian lineage? Myself, I'm from Norway, with a lot of relatives in the U.S. (WI, OH, FL, ...); I've also done some editing on the article on Norwegian-Americans and the related list. --Wernher 02:50, 9 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Image of shortcake[edit]

Hello, you added an image at shortcake and labeled it "Strawberry shortcake". It really looks more like a trifle to me. It seems to be based on some sort of sponge cake, not a biscuit. I'm aware that it's common to call any cake with strawberries "strawberry shortcake", but I'm not sure it's encyclopedic to do so without at least an explanation. Thoughts? --TreyHarris 06:07, 26 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that: I'm not very familiar with shortcake, so I assumed that the photo's label on Flickr was accurate. The only other CC-BY-SA shortcake image I can find is [2], but I'm not sure of whether that's genuine shortcake either. Eurleif 06:21, 26 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Glen Quagmire.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Glen Quagmire.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fair use rationale for Image:Ataxx.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ataxx.png. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 10:47, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of TheGreatHatsby[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is TheGreatHatsby. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/TheGreatHatsby (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:07, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Omegle in Switzerland[edit]

Hi Leif

What do you think. Should we go ahead with Omegle in Switzerland?

Let me know: urs.waefler@gmail.com

--Urs.Waefler (talk) 09:42, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Limozeen, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Limozeen. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Rwiggum (Talk/Contrib) 03:31, 13 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please claim your upload(s): File:Digitalcamera.jpg[edit]

Hi, This image was seemingly uploaded prior to current image polices, Thank you.

However, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure all media on English Wikipedia is correctly licensed and attributed it would be appreciated if you were able to confirm, that it was your own work, by marking it as own, amending the information added by a third party, and by changing the license to an appropriate "self" variant. You can also add |claimed=yes to the Media by uploader or Presumed self tag(s) if present to indicate that you've acknowledged the image, and license shown (and updated the information where appropriate).

This will assist those reviewing the many many "free" images on commons that have not yet been transferred to Commons. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:49, 9 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article General Protection Fault (webcomic) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Tagged for sources and notability for 10+ years without any improvements in sight. Zero sourcing found in a WP:BEFORE, no evidence of meeting any notability guideline.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
