Welcome to Wikipedia! Looking at your contibutions I see you have an eye for detail. Please carry on editing articles, and contributing information. It looks as if you already know what you're doing, but just about anything you could hope to read about editing Wikipedia is linked at the Wikipedia:Community portal. The Wikipedia:Simplified Ruleset is a good overview.

I'm relatively new here myself, but I am delighted to see someone else editing in the classical music sections which is one of my interests. You may be interested in Wikipedia:WikiProject Composers or Wikipedia:WikiProject Music, which might give you some ideas. But enjoy editing in whatever area you can contribute! --RobertG 11:01, 4 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the welcome! Very kind of ya. Mallocks 11:09, 4 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Fumble[edit]

I read on the Charlie Brown page that Violet was the first to pull the ball away, on the same date and [for the same] reason that you listed for Lucy doing this. --Wack'd About Wiki 22:33, 6 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Aah, well, it's definately Lucy, I can't upload the image for Copyright reasons, but the opening statement is "All you have to do is hold the bsall, Lucy ... Then I'll come running up, and kick it"
Issue appears to have been resolved

Album ordinals[edit]

Album ordinals aren't required per WP:ALBUM. However, the project states that it is only a guide and you should feel free to personalize an article as you see fit, though others may change it to fit our standards. Ordinals are currently being used for Radiohead albums (i.e., Kid A, OK Computer) and Oasis albums (i.e., Heathen Chemistry, Be Here Now)... to name some examples off the top of my head. I think it's a good addition for the infobox, esp. for bands with 5+ albums on their resume. --Madchester 07:47, August 19, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks, that's all I wanted to see. Mallocks 07:49, 19 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Not inclusive[edit]

As the tags assert, any given article "Needs x votes by date". Once that day arrives, if the quota is not met, the article is axed. In all honesty, back when I ran the original AID, that system hadn't been developed, and my knowledge of it is strictly visual. Still, it does say that it's up to - not inlcuding. -Litefantastic 19:24, 20 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Righto, I was just going on what the main upkeeper of the page had been doing. Thanks for clearing that up. Mallocks 19:28, 20 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks![edit]

Hi Mallocks!

I'm reading the pages you recommended, at this right moment! And thanks for telling me about tagging, I didn't know that.

Thanks for everything,

165.111.2.149[edit]

I was away from the computer when you gave me that message, sorry. That IP is owned by a school district in San Antonio, and i've tagged the userpage to mark that. It's apparently a shared computer at a school, and it hasn't vandalized in around an hour. And it even reverted a newbie test today! (I responded because i'm kinda bored.) --Phroziac (talk) 17:15, 23 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

World of Warcraft[edit]

Heh not a prob. I've been caught that way a couple times as well. =D --Syrthiss 13:27, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your support[edit]

Thank you for your kind support of my recent nomination on RfA, and for the nice comment. I remember with pleasure welcoming you here all those months ago. Best regards, RobertGtalk 12:17, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You wrote: Thanks for tagging this page, I only saw the nn-bio criteria after placing the AfD, by which point I wasn't sure what the correct action to take was. Again, thank you. Mallocks 16:40, 30 September 2005 (UTC)

You are quite welcome. It is perfectly in order to add the {{nn-bio}} tag to a page already on Afd, provided it otherwise qualifies. However, please do not remove the Afd tag. Also, please use the subst: keyword when adding the {{afd}} tag. Note that after adding nn-bio to a page you can notify the page's creator with {{nn-warn}}. I personly suggest doing this in most cases, and i did it in this case. You might want to take a look at this template, and its talk page, which explains how to use it, for future reference. Siberian Serial Killers[edit]

Hey, go have another look at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sascha Spesiwtsew. Can I get you to change your vote? DS 14:48, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You wrote: Hi, I noted your vote over at AfD, and am not quite clear which point of WP:MUSIC you're saying they meet. If you could justify it in the nomination, I think it would make my decision and anyone who comes to it later's decision much easier, at the moment I can't see any point on which they pass the requirements. Thank you for your time. Mallocks 20:51, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Well, if you look on their website, you can see they play regular live shows in Hong Kong. They have a song on a relatively major occasional album, and they published an album in September (currently a new release on Monitor Records. I actually downloaded one of their mp3s... and they suck :) Karol 05:36, 4 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
You wrote: Granted, but point 2 is "Has gone on an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in a large or medium-sized country", which Hong-Kong doesn't qualify for, and a single album fails to meet point 3, "Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable)". Also the monitor-records website records their album as being on the Folkpunk Music label, which if you look at the album section of fruitpunch's website, you'll see is their own, making them self-released. Mallocks 08:52, 4 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I'm changing my vote. I don't know why I had an inclusionistic feeling about this. Karol 19:42, 4 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You have made some corrections to an overwritten entry I had submitted. I thought I understood the rules (no editorializing) from your first edit, and I read the Wikipedia rule on the subject to which you referred. To test my understanding of this rule, I revised and reinserted one sentence from the section you had edited out, with the intention of putting the subject into context, as a reference to Marlowe might (or might not?) belong in an article on Shakespeare. Your subsequent edit says that this is still editorializing. So help me understand what a good author does to establish a relationship required to understand in greater depth the topic at hand. Thanks, PDE, contributor to the Green Street Hooligans entry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.48.139.158 (talkcontribs) 03:12, 14 November 2005

South Park episode pages[edit]

Re: Chef Aid and Chewbacca defense pages: No problem - I'm glad to help. The biggest problem, believe it or not, was correcting the "season 2 infobox" template, which redirected Chef Aid to Chewbacca defense in the first place!

Perhaps you could take a look at my merge request? (cf. Chef's Chocolate Salty Balls, Chocolate Salty Balls)

Million Dollar Homepage[edit]

It's not actually linkspam, it's a list of the knock-off sites carefully formatted so that the Wiki software doesn't link it, and it was there as evidence that the knock-offs are not notable, so should not be in the main article. But since that argument has been had and settled long since there is no pressing need to retain it either. Just zis Guy you know? 15:31, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! You and I worked together to resolve a dispute on this article in the past. Well, some unfortunate soul is actually trying to delete this article for ludicrous reasons. I encourage you to help us preserve and improve this highly relevant article! Thanks! --24.154.173.243 21:58, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Vangelis Hypothesis.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Vangelis Hypothesis.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 1 != 2 16:35, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Turanga Leela[edit]

Yes, of course. Except that Turangalila symphony itself is named just after what I have mentioned: Turangalîla-Symphonie#Concept ... so maybe I will try another formulation of the same fact. because linking to common meaning of word "Lila" makes sense in this case. (many people worldwide know what "Lila" means in hinduism, but have't heard about the symphony until today; but if the symphony itself is named in sanskrit, according to Wiki, than what's the point in mentioning JUST the symphony ? --XChaos (talk) 19:49, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please check my another attempt now, thanks. --XChaos (talk) 12:26, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I reverted the next attempt and discovered this conversation afterword. My concern is that there's no source stating that either A) the creators were aware of the meaning of the symphony title and B) that it is meant to have any relevance to the character's name. These are the sort of connections we cannot just assume are true without a source. It's best in my opinion to stick to what is written or discussed in secondary sources. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
