Stonyhurst update[edit]

Many thanks for note - got a few more things to add, and a bit more re-working. Hope that's cool. Just added a photo too - what do you think? Also I have a new image for the front of Stonyhurst - would you like me to add and replace the other one? I am a youngster, OS 91 - 98, but studied Stonyhurst history whilst there, and since. Thanks for your note. Well done on starting the page! Matt - London 09:33, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely! Facts are from my own research - part of my PHD. Thanks for offer to edit photo. Matt - London 11:38, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Brideshead Revisited is being repeated in my adopted land of Australia on ABC2 and Stonyhurst was mentioned. I have only recently come across the comedy of Chris Morris and find it hilarious. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.74.134.113 (talk) 10:09, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your comment on Talk:Breastfeeding - I've added about the let-down reflex now and hope that the article is pretty much done now. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated, but thanks again for reminding me about this important one. violet/riga (t) 22:44, 28 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Arso Jovanovic[edit]

OK, it would be great if you could fix this text. About English reference.. hmm, you could try to find something via Google. I tried, and didn't find a lot of info. When I translated the article, I had no particluar knowledge about Jovanovic, but recently I've read one book that speaks a lot about him, so I think that I could check your changes. Just tell me when you finish with the article. -- Obradović Goran (talk 17:12, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In the first paragraph I saw one correction that may be problematic. Fight for National Liberation (WWII in Yugoslavia). is changed into Fight for National Liberation in Yugoslavia during WWII. I'm not sure, it might be OK this way as well. I'll explain how I inderstand these terms, so you could decide. I think that Fight for National Liberation (Narodnooslobodilacka borba) is somewhat of a synonym for WWII in Yugoslavia. Similar as Russians call WWII in USSR the Great Patriotic War. That is why I have put it in parenthesis. -- Obradović Goran (talk 17:27, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the kind words :). I agree it will need some further cleanup by someone fluent in English. The trick is to find someone who is at once both fluent in English *and* knowledgeable about the subject matter, which unfortunately I am not ;) - good luck! Recusant families[edit]

I am the one who put the names of the recusant families down. Did you appreciate my having remembered your line?? Thanks for adding (which ones did you add??)

Cheers!! 216.194.4.53 06:12, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't there be a speedy tag for this kind of stuff? --M1ss1ontomars2k4 | T | C | @ 02:54, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the note. I didn't actually write that section, though as the last one to touch it I should have corrected that glaring misspelling. Ugh.

If you want to take a look at again, go ahead: I've recast the sentences a bit, and while I have every confidence in my spelling I'm not so certain about my typing. --Calton | Talk 01:51, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A new Oxbridge user box[edit]

Dvavasour...I am currently in the process of writing a user box for all of the colleges that are part of Oxbridge. This template is meant to replace your current college template. Please take a look at the work in progress and comment on it. My main concerns are college abbreviations and color choice. I am using scarf colors for the colleges. Thank you. - LA @ 17:22, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Morris Iannucci comedy and Jesuit Schooling[edit]

I went to a Jesuit School Xavier College in Melbourne Australia. I saw "Coffee and Cigarettes" where Steve Coogan was in a scene with Alfred Molina (whom I knew) which made me wonder who Steve Coogan was. It then led me to the humour of Chris Morris and later Armando Iannucci.

Xavier has produced Santo Cilauro as well as Tom Gleisner who were both at school with me at the same time but unnoticed until years later I saw their names in a school play whilst looking through the 1978 yearbook. Marg Downey also a prominent comedian was in the play as well.

Strangely enough, Patrick Marber was at Rokeby a junior school in Kingston-upon-Thames I attended before we migrated to Australia yet I don't think he had started before I left.

I certainly felt that the Jesuits allowed us to question everything but there is a certain menacing quality to Morris that belonged to the in crowd at our school. I wonder whether he was the bully or the bullied, more of an emotional than physical thing between the boys at our school. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.74.149.124 (talk) 18:43, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:36, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
