I see that you and hdante are resurrecting this template. I like the new wording - well done. In the past, one of the reasons it got deleted was that it wasn't used very much. Are you and he planning on putting it onto lots of the relevant articles as part of this resurrection? Do you want any help? --Nigelj 20:50, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

wtf unblock[edit]

I had experimented running a Tor server, but the bandwidth usage became somewhat of an issue. People apparently abuse Tor to vandalise Wikipedia I'm assuming, so I can see the probable reasoning behind the block. I took down the server, so no more worries. I need my wikipedia!!

My IP address (junxie.mine.nu) was blocked due to being either an open proxy or zombie computer. I'll admit that Tor basically is an open proxy, but I'm not running that anymore. For future reference, it might be nice to know how to prevent Wikipedia from being accessed via your own Tor server, probably in the Help section somewhere. If I have to choose between promoting anonymity and free information, I'll implode! -Matt 14:52, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, can you give the the IP address (from the autoblock message). Thanks! Ian13/talk 17:06, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And it should be noted - if you have been blocked as an open proxy - you must not run that server or whatever. Open proxies are banned from Wikipedia for security and due to vandalism. Since there is no way of identitfying who is using the IP, it would need to stay banned. Basically, I can only unblock if you let me know that you wont be an open proxy again. (and I need the IP since that is what it is blocked by, and not the hostname.) Ian13/talk 17:12, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And even if you are an open proxy who bans Wikipedia, your IP will still be banned. Ian13/talk 17:14, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
PING junxie.mine.nu (71.228.25.94) 56(84) bytes of data. -Matt 17:42, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I have unblocked the IP and removed any active autoblocks on your account, and you should be able to contribute again. Just a couple of notes:
  • I notice you used "wtf" in the title of this section, may I ask that you do not swear on Wikipedia, it is not seen as nice and can be interpreted as a personal attack.
  • Please do not run any form of openproxy from this IP, if you do you should contact a Wikipedia administrator, who will reinstate the indefinate block. For more information, see here.
  • Good luck!

Were you the one who said you could get images for List of supernatural beings in Dragon Ball?Earthbendingmaster (talk) 02:11, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, and I uploaded them a while ago, but they seem to have been removed. Matt (JVz) (talk) 20:52, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:05, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
