Image Tagging Image:Tomahawk1.jpg[edit]

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Tomahawk1.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Help (confession)[edit]

I did something stupid when trying to create a redirect at Champion Decathlon for the article on the Decathlon airplane which was produced by Champion Aircraft.

I created the page but made a syntax error, typing "redirect" instead of "#redirect." I tested the redirect and found my mistake, so I went back to repair it. But, when I tested the repair, it still didn't work, and now the problem was a big pink box. I admit that I didn’t read carefully what was in the big pink box; I assumed (wrongly) that it was there because of my syntax error. So, I removed the {{db-nonsense}} tag which was responsible for the big pink box.

Only after doing that did I look at the edit history and realize what had happened: My redirect had been sentenced to Wikideath as nonsense, either because of the forgotten "#" or because it’s lunacy to think that someone would look for Champion’s 8KCAB Decathlon by typing "Champion Decathlon." Anyway, when I looked more carefully at the big pink box, I noticed the emphatic warning: "[D]o not remove this notice from pages that you have created yourself."

So, I messed up there. Even if I go back and revert my edit, I will still have violated the stricture, and I'm guessing that means it’s time for somebody to "release the dogs, or the bees, or the dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark they shoot bees at you." I'm willing to go quietly. But, just for clarity (as distinct from punishment), is there any way to right my wrong? —SkipperPilot 00:03, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, you've done absolutely nothing wrong, some other wikipedian was a bit overzealous and for whatever reason thought it was nonsense. Now, you were not supposed to remove the notice indeed, and bring it up to the talk page instead and let the admins dealing with deletions act accordingly. However, you choosed to (or we'll pretend you did) be bold and ignore all rules, nobody can fault that (of course, the story would be quite different had it truly been non sense). Champion Sky-Trac[edit]

Hi SkipperPilot - I've seen the great work you've done on other members of this family, and wondered if you'd care to take a look over this new addition? At the moment, the new article covers both the Sky-Trac and Challenger, but I wonder if it makes more sense to merge this with the Citabria article? Especially since the 7GCAA is already covered in the Citabria article, but I've included it in the Sky-Trac article as well, since my (admittedly limited) sources don't identify this model as a Citabria, and I don't know the lineage well enough to call it one way or another.

In fact, I wonder if you think it would make sense to merge both these articles together with the Champ and cover the whole "Model 7" family together? I'd be grateful for your insight here :) --Rlandmann (talk) 02:12, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nice to hear from you! Yup time is always a limitation in working on Wikipedia. Lately I have found a bit of time and have embarked on a project that I thought needed doing - completing articles on all the Schweizer glider types. Okay I first learned to fly on them, so I have a soft spot for them! If you have any interest in the subject and the time to have a look, I would appreciate your fresh set of eyes and editorial input. None of them have had much attention so far, even though one got on DYK!
