Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway[edit]

May I ask why you delete information that I put in from the Stations of the RER?

May I remind you that this is an encyclopaedic article, which is aimed at the general public.

Alastair, the problem is that a lot of the information which you have added about the various stations is not of relevance to the article, and a lot of it is needlessly duplicated. It is simply unnecessary to include information about disabled access at intermediate stations (that sort of information is purely unencyclopaedic and quite honestly un-noteworthy). That sort of information would be more appropriate on the company's website than on Wikipedia, as is information about access to workshop buildings and the like - we can take it as a given that access is restricted. Also, is it really necessary to include the line diagram on each individual station's page? There is already the information box at the foot of each page, noting the station's location in relation to the others. Also, we do not need the diagram on the main R&ER page twice. I am still not particularly convinced about it having "collapsible" sections between stations, as all this succeeds in doing is restricting the amount of information which is given.
When editing Wikipedia, I try to stick to the maxim - use what is useful; discard what is not.

Hallo, as part of the WP:FEB24 project of adding sources for unsourced stuff I'm looking at Cumbria-related articles and found Douglas Ferreira (locomotive) which you created in 2008. I'm delighted to see that you're still editing: could you go back to it and add some sources, perhaps?

I could probably find a single-line mention of the engine somewhere and add a ref and technically change {{Unreferenced}} into {{Refimprove}}, but you could undoubtedly do much more than me for it. Thanks. PamD 08:27, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
