There appears to be a gap of 7 years between the date given for Charles the Simple's death and Louis's successcion, is this correct ? --Imran

Looking it up. It seems complicated. Charles III was deposed at least once, and reigned twice in partnership -- I have here a Raoul de Bourgogne reigning 923-936, of which 923-929 was with Charles. Confusing indeed. -- Tarquin 22:21 Oct 15, 2002 (UTC)

Aquamarine[edit]

Is this Louis the Aquamarine? If it is can someone more familiar w/ French monarchy enlighten us on the origins of the name? Jirt 17:05, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Children Conflict[edit]

Gerberga of Saxony lists 8 children of Louis IV and Gerberga, while Louis IV states there are only 3. This needs to be matched up one way or other. Kenalynn 01:33, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Date of Death[edit]

The longer French-language Wikipedia article says September 10, and also describes Louis IV's death as happening at "the end of summer." Additionally, the death of Louis IV in 954 is listed on French-language Wikipedia's page _about_ the date September 10. The Encyclopedia Britannica and most other online sources also say September 10, but enough sources say September 30 that I wouldn't feel confident in changing this English-language article. (I do note, however, that this English-language article gives September 10 as his _birth_ date, whereas the French-language article says simply that he was born between September 920 and September 921.) pnh (talk) 07:20, 30 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
