"Pokemon Series Character"?[edit]

Lucario is a species, not a character. A character would be like Brock, or Ash's Pikachu. And Lucario is a bipedal jackal, not a dog. 69.178.54.86 (talk) 09:03, 29 February 2016 (UTC) I think he looks more like a hyena, to be honest. -A Lucario main in SSBU. --JTZegers (talk) 12:59, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Made this article full again[edit]

This article was made a redirect BEFORE we knew that he was in Brawl. In light of that, I'm making it a full article again, as I believe it merits significance to be one. Purplebackpack89 (talk) 22:07, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, just because it is in Brawl doesnt mean it gets a full article. Plenty of brawl characters dont have articles. Such as Lucas, Ice Climbers, and King Dedede. Also, I would like for you to see the redone article I made a while ago here. If you can find something that talks all about Lucario, such as a magazine article, or a website interview, then that would be great! Until then Lucario will stay as a list section. Which is fine. Blake (Talk·Edits) 19:18, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think it merits article status now, actually. The current section of the Pokemon article is three paragraphs longer than any other Pokemon, and the supposed consensus they cite is years old. I edited that a bit, as others have, because it needed a Brawl reference in the header. Purplebackpack89 (talk) 20:18, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, its good you think that, but nowadays, a Pokémon isnt notable untill it has very good references that say that it has influenced the world in a way. I dont think that brawl slip will work for that. I also think that Lucario should be an article. That is why I made that article in the project space. So if I ever find a reference that works, I can have everything ready to go. Until then, people will merge the article back to the list. Blake (Talk·Edits) 20:24, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
So at least the consensus b/w us is that Lucario deserves it...too bad haters don't agree. Purplebackpack89 (talk) 20:33, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Stretchin' the Limitz[edit]

I know Lucario is very dog-like (no denyin' it), but why is it part of WikiProject Dogs? More like fictional dog-inspired creatures. There are probably dozens of articles that are more dog-like. People learning about dogs wouldn't put Lucario as a species either, would they? 2D Backfire Master (talk) 02:03, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

People are always adding project banners to Pokemon articles. I think its their project, so if they want to help cover this article, then they can feel free too. Most of the time, their projects don't do anything to help the article though. Blake (Talk·Edits) 14:01, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

B-class Assessment (For WikiProject Videogames)[edit]

1) The article is suitably referenced, with inline citations where necessary.

  • checkYPass, nothing throws itself up as a major issue.

2) The article reasonably covers the topic, and does not contain obvious omissions or inaccuracies.

  • checkYPass, covers description, appearances and reception, which will meet the casual readers needs.

3) The article has a defined structure.

  • checkYPass, the article flows well, and sections are appropriate.

4) The article is reasonably well-written.

  • checkYPass, although to obtain higher ratings perhaps it could be polished to remove a few lingering in-universe feeling parts, such as the description of Aura, and the description within video-games. (Although I am not heavily experienced with GA/FA criteria)

5) The article contains supporting materials where appropriate.

  • checkYPass, nothing leaps out as lacking here.

6) The article presents its content in an appropriately accessible way.

  • checkYPass, but issues as highlighted with item 4 may cause issue at GA and higher.

Hope this assessment helps, feel free to poke me on my talk page with comments and questions. --Taelus (talk) 18:22, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I removed some things that were unnecessary possibly while you were looking at the article. Blake (Talk·Edits) 23:22, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Just noticed that now, doesn't change anything for the B-class assessment though, thanks. --Taelus (talk) 23:24, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reception[edit]

Isn't the reception a tad weak? With the exception of a magazine entry, it seems that most of it comes from IGN or GamesRadar. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 01:31, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it is a tad weak. I still think it is notable. Although I could be biased, as I created the article. Blake (Talk·Edits) 01:50, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cameron's Lucario[edit]

Now that Cameron's Riolu has evolved into a Lucario in the anime, shall we discuss its appearance there? Or shall we wait a little longer? 96.243.195.35 (talk) 15:23, 28 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"First video game appearance"[edit]

The article says the Lucario first appears in Diamond and Pearl, and then later mention Mystery Dungeon. Mystery Dungeon came out in 2005, while Diamond and Pearl came out in 2006. Wouldn't that make Mystery Dungeon Lucario's first video game appearance? [Soffredo] Yeoman 2 13:14, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Pokémon sun and moon ultra legends[edit]

Just to let you all know lucario appeared in the sun and moon tv series in the Alola league as an opponent against ash.(107.77.212.234 (talk) 19:30, 13 November 2020 (UTC))[reply]

Should Lucario have its own page again?[edit]

Lucario is the most iconic and popular generation IV Pokémon, even more than its pre-evolved form, Riolu. Its popularity led to it being a playable fighter in the Super Smash Bros. series since Brawl and Pokkén Tournament, as well as gaining a Mega Evolution in Pokémon X and Y. It has appeared as an NPC in the PokéPark duology for the Wii and is also playable in Pokémon Unite. It technically debuted in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Team before the official release of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Jake Lugo (talk) 20:47, 21 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
