He met his wife Dr. Marina Popovich in 1955 and they have two daughters ... He now has a daughter, Kristy Popovich. Whereupon, does he has one or two daughters? 213.214.142.47 14:01, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Marina Popovich and UFOs[edit]

Not sure if this should even be included here as its to do with his wife and not him, but if it must stay, I'd like to see some references for this section, hence my added of the unreferenced tag. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Teiresias84 (talkcontribs) 01:53, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In case anyone else reads this - Teiresias84 wrote that when the article looked like this) the article as it stands shows that he had an involvement with UFO research, and participated in a documentary. His wife's contribution to the UFO world is in her article. -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 16:12, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article Status[edit]

I have expanded the article using information from various sources (including the odd fact from other Wikipedias, all noted). If someone else can help to tidy it up, or find more information, that'd be great! -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 16:12, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Marriage with Marina Popovich[edit]

They later divorced, and Popovich married Alevtina Oshegova.

However in Marina Popovich's article: She was married to Pavel Popovich, a former Soviet cosmonaut, until his death. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.89.37.101 (talk) 23:37, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As several sources used for this article clearly showed that they had divorced, and he had remarried, then the Marina Popovich article must be wrong. I'll correct the details using some of the sources I found. Thanks for pointing this out! -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 23:48, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Resolved
 – Marina Popovich article has been corrected, using the citations. -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 23:57, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Date of death[edit]

According to source #1, he died on Wednesday, September 30th, and not on the 29th. --Sir48 (talk) 22:25, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, and also these sources say he died on the 30th: [1] and [2]. Russian and Ukrainian Wikipedia say the 29th though. Probably because of this source [3]. And here [4] it says he died at 23:00 on the 29th in Crimea, which in Moscow would be at 24:00. So Moscow time he probably died on the 30th, but I guess we should use local time. "Ukrainian"[edit]

The link provides zero evidence that he is "Ukrainian", Russian WP accurately cites that he is "Soviet" and there is no evidence either that he could be ethnical Galician from his parents either. "Ukraine" as state appeared only in 1991, thus tops he might have become Ukrainian passport in 1991 - but he had ended his career by then as "Soviet" cosmonaut anyway.89.1.158.252 (talk) 04:16, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
