Untitled[edit]

The novel was first published in 1910 in France, so I have corrected the publication date. --24.137.70.146 00:27, 8 November 2005 (UTC----

All works by GL are in the public domain world wide. So there is no "official" web site. Yann 11:32, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Le dîner des bustes a novel?[edit]

Le dîner des bustes is a short story not a novel, isn't it?78.69.1.132 (talk) 23:07, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mystifying words[edit]

Another case he was present at involved the investigation and deep coverage of an opera house in Paris, later to become a ballet house. The basement consisted of a cell that held prisoners in the Paris Commune, which were the rulers of Paris through much of the Franco-Prussian war.

  • The first sentence is very odd. "Deep coverage of an opera house" suggests the building was buried under tons of dirt or something. Just what is this trying to say? The second sentence seems only tenuously connected to the first. Am I missing something?-- JackofOz (talk) 22:54, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe, maybe not :-) There's not clue on de: or fr: wiki. My best guess is "in depth coverage". The Palais Garnier article (how strange that the many Phantom articles dont link to it!) states (w/o source) that Leroux wrote about a fallen chandelier counterweight accident, which might have to do with the first sentence. The second seems drawn from The Phantom of the Opera's epilogue. In any case Phantôme deserves its own paragraph.Sparafucil (talk) 02:55, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

List of novels[edit]

I believe "Le Lys" is a play in four acts, which was co-authored with Pierre Wolff Here is a link that provides links to copies in various libraries:

Gaston Leroux refers to the play at the beginning of Le parfum de la Dame en Noir, which he dedicates to M. Wolff:

À Pierre WOLFF En souvenir affectueux de notre ardente collaboration en cette année qui a vu éclore Le Lys. GASTON LEROUX
