Where is the Lacoste Polo made?[edit]

Interestingly on the Lacoste Polo that I purchased in Berlin, 3 days ago, the production country is nowhere to be seen. On the clothes itself there is only a label with the care instruction, the code "5191L" and the word "Devanlay". I did not even know that european law allows for a product to be put on the market without indicating the production country. I have asked for information from the German consumer institute. I am or course almost sure it is made in China or in one country with no good reputation in fashion, but if Lacoste uses cheap and cheappest labour ofter exploring children and sell polos in Europe for 80 € they shouldas as have the courage ( or be obliged by law) to state it on their products. Nike produces in China, vietnam, etc where children are used and people earn nothing. But its written on the label and its up to you to buy or not. Lacoste wants to keep people from knowing. Of course, I sent them an email asking...I still did not get a reply. Something tells me I wont ever get one reply from Lacoste. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.186.100.110 (talk) 12:17, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This page is for discussing the article, not its subject. AFAIK polos for Europe are being made in Turkey (at least this is the case in Russia, where polos look as you have described - one label at the collar with no indication of country of origin). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.41.106.71 (talk) 03:12, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That is precisely correct. It’s interesting that the article cites his tenacity as a source for the name or a crocodile skin suitcase and I’m sure the material was just chosen out of the blue. Wikipedia is such a joke. 72.218.205.94 (talk) 15:50, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
