"Never referred to by name"[edit]

The section on Dame Judy Dench says that she was never referred to as M by name on-screen."Unlike the M played by other actors, Dench's M was never referred to by name on-screen." This is not at all true. Valantin Zukovsky says "I hear the new M is a lady?" in GoldenEye. In Skyfall, as the enter the new MI6 bunker for the first time, Bond says "So when do I see M?", to which Bill Tanner replies: "Tomorrow, You'll see M and Mallory, if you're lucky." 220.233.86.95 (talk) 08:12, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No, it says that her real name (Olivia Mansfield) is never mentioned in the film - just left on a prop for gimlet-eyed viewers to spot.Paulturtle (talk) 02:01, 8 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I enjoy Bond films but don't have anything close to encyclopedic knowledge of them. I've often wondered if "M" was a title that passed from person to another, or if it is a single character, played by different actors and existing within a rather flexible continuity -- just as Bond is. The above quote would seem to make it clear that M is a title. Should this me stated explicitly in the article? PurpleChez (talk) 19:24, 24 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

SAS[edit]

Paulturtle, Please use the talk page, rather than just reverting with a snarky summary.
I see you recently changed a plot summary with the reason "it's pretty obvious". So is this. There is only one regiment based in Hereford, and its the SAS. If you need things to be written out in plain English (obviously not, given your comment on the Orient Express article), Time Out is one of several reliable sources that fit the bill. - SchroCat (talk) 07:11, 10 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warrior[edit]

JDDJS, please stop edit warring and use the talk page to discuss. You have claimed this is "per policy", but there is no such policy at all that states this. "Last" does not mean final. Last is the last one before the next one. - SchroCat (talk) 12:49, 16 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Last appearance means the most recent film in which the character has appeared. -- Ssilvers (talk) 13:49, 16 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
That is not what's been agreed on in the past. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template_talk:Infobox_character/Archive_3 JDDJS (talk to mesee what I've done) 14:26, 16 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
An eight-year-old thread that was about whether to remove the field, that doesn't come to a conclusion and that doesn't actually define what constitutes "last"? That's not a great basis for edit warring. - SchroCat (talk) 14:51, 16 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
