October 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to Lenoir cycle has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. Thank you for your contributions to the article and talk page of Tommy Hurricane Jackson. Please be aware that your communications give the impression that you are the same user as User:Tombak2 and IP addresses 64.107.219.149 and 64.107.219.155. Tombak2 was indefinitely blocked for using multiple accounts abusively in addition to ignoring community consensus. Further attempts to edit war your viewpoint in anonymously and not logged in will cause the page to be semi-protected and unable to be edited by IP addresses and new users. Furthermore, your attempts of disruption at Commons further reinforce the perception that you are not listening to community consensus and are not here to collaborate on creating an encyclopedia. You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 year for persistent vandalism. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. System wide block of educational center[edit]

This is the Chicago Library System. There appears to be block on this connection due to a hurricane related incident from over one year ago. Could an administrator visit this question dealing with one user that is affecting many more other users in good standing by comparison.{{admin help}}

Have been on stand-by for twenty minutes. Could you provide any information which would be useful to an experienced IT professional on this matter concerning this extended block concerning security breeches, etc, which are affecting the entire Chicago Library System. Response shall be posted accordingly and in a timely manner. 64.107.3.126 (talk) 21:01, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is one of a range of addresses which was blocked for three years on 4 January 2012, the reason being "Continued abuse immediately after previous rangeblock has expired". The incidents referred to above were no doubt part of that. I have consulted the blocking administrator, who advises that the persistent long-term abuse from this address range, which goes back many years, has been such that unblocking will not be considered. (You can get some idea by looking at the history of this talk page). I will post below a note of how anyone wishing to edit constructively can request an account. JohnCD (talk) 21:32, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Such an extended block suggests that there was a security firewall breech or other extraordinary occurence. Could this be reviewed by a blocking administration who could leave a message which would be informative to an IT security professional. The Chicago Library System has revised its usage policy on computer access last June extensively to prevent vandalism and related issues. This has included barring all library priviledges to delinquent users and account holders, as well as blocking all hard drive write access at all branch libraries (all of them). If there are specific issues for this pertinent to Wikipedia, a request is made to list them in an informative manner to an IT security professional. {{admin help|blocking administrator assistance requested}}

How to create a Wikipedia account[edit]

If you wish to edit Wikipedia, you are advised to register an account, which is easy and free, by going to Wikipedia:Request an account. JohnCD (talk) 21:32, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request to note that account creation in also blocked at all related sites and users in good standing are also blocked.{{admin help}}

Editing from this range has been disabled (blocked) in response to abuse. A range may be shared by many users and innocent users may be affected; if you believe that you are not the person this block is intended for, please follow the instructions below:

If you have an account: Please log in to edit. In rare cases, in response to serious abuse, logged-in editing may also be disabled. If you still cannot edit, place {{unblock}} on your talk page and make reference to this message. You may wish to ping the blocking administrator or email them via the "email this user" function.

If you do not have an account: Registered users are still able to edit. If you cannot create an account from this or another network, you may request that volunteers create your username for you. Please follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Request an account to request an account under your preferred username. It may take some time to process your request.

Administrators: Please consult the blocking administrator before altering or lifting this block, and consider consulting with a CheckUser before granting an IP block exemption to an editor using this range. Note that large or hard (logged-in editing blocked) rangeblocks are usually only made in response to serious abuse, and the blocking admin may have information about this block which is essential to reviewing any unblock request.

Information icon Hello, I'm Donner60. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to Printing press— because it didn’t appear constructive to me. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Donner60 (talk) 22:27, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Information icon Hello, I'm NewEnglandYankee. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Waldensians seemed less than neutral to me, so it has been removed it for now. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Wikipedia is not an appropriate forum for advocacy or for describing what you, personally, have done or thought. Thank you. NewEnglandYankee (talk) 17:30, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Ready Jet Go!, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! Thank you for contributing to Hong Kong Police Force. You didn't provide a source for your changes, though. In a case like this, the burden of proof is on you to show that the added material is correct. NewEnglandYankee (talk) 20:28, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should read the guide to appealing blocks, then contact administrators by submitting a request to the Unblock Ticket Request System. If the block is a CheckUser or Oversight block, was made by the Arbitration Committee or to enforce an arbitration decision (arbitration enforcement), or is unsuitable for public discussion, you should appeal to the Arbitration Committee.
Please note that there could be appeals to the unblock ticket request system that have been declined leading to the post of this notice.
