- Note: If this is kept, it still needs to be moved to Category:Geek holidays per naming conventions. But I really think this material would be better served by a list. Category:Holidays does not seem to be overwhelmed by these, but if it was, how about something like Category:Joke holidays, comparable to Category:Joke religions (since you pretty much have to be a geek to be proposing a joke holiday!)? -Aranel ("Sarah") 15:10, 15 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Should be moved to Category:Geek holidays, per above. It should also be a sub-cat of Category:Holidays. All the enries, right now, seem to be categorized into both Category:Geek Holidays and Category:Holidays. I don't think a list is an ideal replacement to the category. Even if a little silly, these are articles with some substance to them. They should be categorized together in some way. Dumping them straight into Category:Holidays isn't really appropriate. If there were a Category:Joke holidays, I'd be tempted to say this should be a sub-cat of that, in its own right. When I think of "joke holidays", I think of stuff like Festivus (although some may disagree with me on that), and "Call in Sick Because You're Feeling Well Day". (sorry, forgot to sign -- User:Azkar

- rename to "Mathematical and scientific holidays". Only one country in the world uses the horrible abbreviation "math" - every other English speaking country uses "Maths" (and so it will remain, presumably, until there is such a thing as a mathematic. - For the record, at least two english-speaking countries use the "horrible abbreviation" you've mentioned. Please don't lump all of North America into "one country". I'm still in favour of "Geek holidays". These "holidays" are not, generally speaking, meant to be taken too seriously. In all likely-hood, they would only be observed by people who would self-describe as geeks. "Math and science holidays" or "Mathematical and scientific holidays" confers more formality than is probably necessary, or even appropriate. --Azkar 18:20, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)
