Obviously this should link to an article on the Liturgy of the Hours, but I don't know if one exists (or if not, what to call one).

If it means the Tanakh or Old Testament, then I guess this is correct. Otherwise this might violate NPOV and suggest "Sola Scriptura" and is not factually true as the New Testament Canon at that time did not exist. --208.49.131.4 (talk) 15:23, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Under the section "The Proprium Sanctorum", the last sentence reads "Covering a great stretch of time and space, they do for the worshipper in the field of church history what the Scripture readings do in that of biblical history."

Copyediting[edit]

This should be turned into a more or less "regular" Wikipedia article without losing too much of the expert information contained in it. The article started out as a copy-paste of the (public domain) Catholic Encyclopedia article (Cabrol 1907). This was added in 2007[1] and pretty much left alone since then. The 2007 addition of Cabrol's text however left in place material added 2002-2006[2]. Some of the "strange" material goes back to these early days of Wikipedia when it was common usage to just add basic information on a topic without references just to start off a new page. It should be noted that until 2015, this page was under the title of "Breviary"[3]. The new page Breviary is an ill-advised stub page created at the time[4], with no potential to develop independently of Liturgical book and Roman Breviary. It should become a disambiguation page, or merged back into either Liturgical book or Roman Breviary. --dab (𒁳) 12:24, 17 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
