Untitled[edit]

The two share the same English name, but not the same Chinese name. 東吳大學 is used for the university on Taiwan, not 苏州大学, which is used for the unversity on the mainland. --Jiang 03:47, 6 Feb 2004 (UTC)

User:allentchang has proposed to split this into "Soochow University of China" and "Soochow University of Taiwan." I propose Soochow University (mainland China) and Soochow University (Taiwan). Parenthesis show that the disambiguation is not part of the official name.--Jiang 01:08, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Soochow University (Jiangsu) is better. -- Kaihsu 23:14, 2004 May 8 (UTC)

I agree with Jiang's recommendation and will go ahead to create the Soochow University (Taiwan) page. Allentchang 02:45, 21 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Soochow University (Taiwan) does not merely 'claim' to have historical continuity, they HAVE. thank u.

Ok why does the picture keep getting deleted? That's twice now... I give up. Opticalnoise 18:12, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with JIang's suggestion. But the wording, "Soochow University refers to a university located in…" is rather political. I suggest this section be reworded to make it less politically inappropriate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Saraatwiki (talkcontribs) 10:44, 12 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
