Response to copyright violation tag[edit]

To Whom it May Concern re: Copyright issues.

I am a director of the the New England Folk Festival Association, do much of the publicity, created and manage the website, run a weekly contra dance in Cambridge MA for the organization, edit the newsletter, run Operations and Outside Facilities at the NEFFA Festival, etc. I believe that my association with the organization makes me more than qualified to provide material that has also appeared on the website.

I submitted the material - Dan Pearl, Director (etc.), New England Folk Festival Association, Inc.

I removed the copyvio tag. - Jersyko 15:05, Apr 16, 2005 (UTC)

Requested move[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the proposal was no consensus to move the page, per the discussion below. NEFFA is a redirect to this page, so anyone typing the acronym will arrive here; finding the page isn't a problem. Wikipedia's naming conventions suggest that "The" should only be used in article titles when it would be capitalized in running text, and that isn't the case in the sources listed for this article. Thanks for the move suggestion and I hope you will decide to come back and edit Wikipedia again. Dekimasuよ! 13:53, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No one calls The New England Folk Festival, New England Folk Festival. They call it NEFFA, or "The New England Folk Festival". I suggest changing the name of the page to NEFFA. NEFFA's website calls it "The NEFFA Festival", also known as "The New England Folk Festival". When I saw that there was a page titled "New England Folk Festival" I had no idea what festival that might be, and I have been going to NEFFA for 25 years in a row. 199.125.109.92 16:20, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • disagree, keep as New England Folk Festival-Wikipedia naming conventions say to spell out acronyms, then to use them first in the opening paragraphs. Chris 07:00, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Then change it to "The New England Folk Festival", which no one will be able to find. 199.125.109.92 19:46, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
