School Colors[edit]

I don't know where someone got Plum Red and Navy Blue as the school's colors, but the Provost told me that they are cardinal and navy blue, although maroon seems to match the actual shade of the school's colors better.

The uniforms are clearly maroon on every sports team jersey. Although in past years, the football and basketball jerseys were cardinal red. The shift to a more distinct maroon is clear over the past few years and I do not know the full history of the school colors but maroon most accurately reflects the color used today. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Conboy11 (talkcontribs) 01:37, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jargon[edit]

Jargon sections on school pages violate the NPOV policy of Wikipedia and have been removed from just about every school article; I would refer you to Phillips Exeter Academy or St. Paul's School (Concord, New Hampshire) as examples. Slang sections are unverifiable by published sources, bias the article, add too much irrelevant content, and open the door to making Wikipedia an urban dictionary, which it is not. I know your intentions were good, but this is a dead issue in Wikipedia. Nbruschi 23:40, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Assess for Schools[edit]

Suggest adding more refs, some pics, more history and are there non sporting alumni? Welcome Victuallers 22:34, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Athletics[edit]

Does the last paragraph seem just a little biased to anyone? Superducktoes —Preceding comment was added at 15:25, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

QUESTION FOR DISCUSSION: Is there sufficient connection between AOF and the school in Yates' A GOOD SCHOOL?

Examples of equivalency from the novel:
The description of the eccentric, elderly female founder
The closing of the school for the duration of WWII - for use of the campus as a convalescent school for blind veterans.

Comments? JTGILLICK (talk) 04:12, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I answer myself: yes, there is. Blake Bailey's bio of Yates, A TRAGIC HONESTY has more than sufficient reference, citation. I'll put the references in some time in near future.
