Stick Figure Picture

[edit]

the picture of the stick figure if too simple. add one like this.awesomisticisms 05:40, 29 March 2007 (UTC) That's a really great stick. I think they just chose the simple one to show the basic stick figure. They should put yours in at another point in the article, if someone ever gets to putting in something about intricate stick figures. M. McNeish 16:03, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Game and Watch?

[edit]

Mr Game and Watch? Never heard of it, and it sounds of dubious importance. What about Mr. Idea Powerpoint, the guy in Microsoft Powerpoint who has a light bulb above his head.MPS20:25, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Never heard of him, but go ahead. He's probably a better example anyway. Game & Watch has a somewhat round body. [[User:Meelar|Meelar (talk)]] 20:27, Sep 10, 2004 (UTC)
I'm putting Game & Watch back in, better one example than none and better two than one. Add the Powerpoint guy if you like. Best, [[User:Meelar|Meelar (talk)]] 20:42, Sep 10, 2004 (UTC)

Game and Watch is of importance and needs to be added!! (he is nintendos first character, a stickfigure.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.169.30.79 (talk) 13:20, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Punk band bit should be deleted.

[edit]

It seems like the sentence about the punk band is pretty much irrelivant, does anyone disagree?

i shall agree

Primitive?

[edit]

Now hear me on this one, stick figures don't always have to be just plain and simple, I can actually create great detail and sophistication. I, after all, draw Stick Figure Graphic Novels in my spare time. I'm going to add a little blurb about the detailed versions of stick figures. Death Dark

Yup. Killing Spree 6 is in many ways more detailed (yes, I mean character wise) than many other peoples more "realistic" characters. Zombieninja101

Round bodied stick figures

[edit]

Do stick figures need to have sticks for bodies? The artical isn't very clear about this and my friend and I disagree on this. 81.175.74.129 (talk) 12:51, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree on this point. I think a "stick figure" is synonymous with "simplistic figurine" so a body made of all circles (like a snowman for instance) could very well apply. Also, such things have "stick-like" appendages (ie: arms) to qualify them also. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.52.225.117 (talk) 01:47, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Xao Xiao - stick figure

[edit]

This one is famous, and should be added to the external links. No, I'm not the author, in case you were wondering. I remember seeing it back in the late 90's. Thanks, CarpD 2/2/07

Removed it from the list, since it's already mentioned in the article. --John_Abbe (talk) 12:15, 8 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article is empty.

[edit]

The article is... not good enough. When I first came to the article, I was hoping for some more detail about things. And some big stick websites (such as Stickpage) are just listed at the bottom, without reference in the rest of the article. Maybe some stick figure enthusiasts (such as me) should renovate the article. M. McNeish 15:55, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean? Do you want to know if there are any on Wikipedia? Or do you want to know about any famous Stick figure animators? --CrazyOmega (talk) 13:57, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I completely agree with the original poster. This page was semi-usless. All I found were opinions on what software people make animations with... nothing at all scientific was presented. --75.16.240.14 (talk) 04:38, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is that you're looking for the wrong thing. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a scientific journal. If you want scientific information about a subject, you'll have to look elsewhere. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 06:28, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

More than half the article was an in-depth description of freeware animation software - I've cut this back to a simple summary. There's no reason why this article can't include "scientific" information about stick figures, where such information exists. --McGeddon (talk) 09:43, 24 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Simple stick figure

[edit]
Simple stick figure.

Back when I was a pre-school child, I used to draw humans as stick figures like the one shown here, only consisting of the head and the limbs. My father had to comment on my drawing style by saing: "If you're going to draw stick figures, at least give them a torso." JIP | Talk 21:10, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Stick Figure Death Theatre afd

[edit]

Please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Stick Figure Death Theatre (for the article Stick Figure Death Theatre). I suggested that it might be partially merged here, but am unsure. Thanks. -- Quiddity (talk) 03:47, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What happened to the article?

[edit]

Last I saw the article, I was certain it was in a pretty good shape. I returned to find an incredibly long paragraph about Flash games, internet media and its appearances there.

Whilst I do agree that the stick figure did have a sizeable impact on Internet culture, I believe that the section is far too long-winded and either deserves to be made into its own article or needs to be condensed into something that's more relevant for people who may choose to come by the page. It also replaced the original "In media" section, which cut out a lot of the non-Adobe Flash centred stuff.

...Including xkcd, CGP Grey and The Order Of The Stick, which is an action that deserves to be made into a crime. :P

The last revision to have a more Wikipedia-friendly (in my opinion) layout was the 02:30, 17 November 2021 revision.
