New York, New York[edit]

"...(much as their rival, the New York Yankees play New York, New York by Frank Sinatra whenever they win at Yankee Stadium)."

Don't the Yankees play the song after every home game, win or lose? Can anyone confirm this?

Technically, the Yankees play Liza Minelli's version when they lose.

Dirty Water Drink[edit]

That dirty water drink doesn't seem notable enough for Wikipedia. "dirty water" + rum + vodka gets 168 Google hits, while, for instance, "piña colada" gets 32,000 and "bloody mary" gets almost 500,000. So I removed that and left the Standell's song. JoaoRicardo 03:25, 28 Jan 2005 (UTC)

I've again removed the drink from this article. Specifically because it consisted only of the following line:

Dirty Water is also a cocktail composed of vodka and ..?

This is not a complete sentance and appears to be missing vital information. I don't know enough about this drink to fix the problem, so I removed it until someone with expertise can ammend. ~CS 17:38, 21 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sampled by Ducky Boys[edit]

I've added that this was sampled by the Ducky Boys, but I can't get the link to the Wikipedia page to work properly. Could someone please fix the link? thanks!

Muggers or Fuggers?[edit]

Lyrics here have it "...lovers, muggers, and thieves...", though if you search the web for lyrics most have it as "...lovers, fuggers, and thieves..." I found a copy of the .mp3 online and it sure sounds like "muggers" to me. Are there multiple versions by the Standells? Is there a definitive source on the lyrics for this song? Boston Red Sox[edit]

The main article says the Red Sox have played the song since the 2001 season, but the "Covers and Samples" section says it has been played at Fenway since 1997. Which is true? 68.148.3.185 (talk) 08:04, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

12 bar blues[edit]

Re: "Dirty Water" is a 12-bar blues song composed by Ed Cobb and first recorded by the California rock and roll band The Standells in 1966.

First of all there is no citation for the 12 bar blues claim.

Second of all, upon listening, it sounds to me like this is a 24 bar blues, in which each chord lasts twice as long as in a normal 12 bar blues. This is original research on my part, otherwise I would just correct it.

Unless the author can provide a source on this (unlikely, given that it is untrue), I recommend changing this sentence to- "Dirty Water" is a song composed by Ed Cobb and first recorded by the California rock and roll band The Standells in 1966. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.168.199.178 (talk) 21:49, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

BU Women[edit]

Does anyone have a citation for the BU Women's curfew? I always thought it was a reference to Harvard's Radcliffe College. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CptBuck (talkcontribs) 13:22, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
