Is this a real character? From what Star Wars opus? Does he deserve this much detail? RickK 03:10, 13 Apr 2004 (UTC)

  • Real character, from the Star Wars books [1]. The site says he's had a book to himself and appeared in several others. -- Cyrius|&#9998 03:48, Apr 13, 2004 (UTC)
  • Real and I've certainly heard of him, but I'm admittedly a fan. I'm neutral on whether to keep or not, but if kept it should be pared down a bit. No need for an article this long on a secondary character of the Star Wars universe. We'd be inviting equally long articles on a dozen or more Star Wars characters that are equally unknown to the general public. Isomorphic 05:06, 13 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Right behind you, Isomorphic. I love Star Wars as much as anyone, but I would never have heard of Corran Horn if not for a novel. I believe he was a friend of Han Solo, which I'm sure this article touches upon. Admittedly, I've only glimpsed it. I'd love to see this much detail lavished on another human/alien character, 'droid or space vehicle. Neutral for now, leaning toward "keep" if it's trimmed. Really trimmed. • Keep. I don't see any reason to trim. "Wikipedia is not paper," etc. Cribcage 05:41, 13 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. I'm not a big fan of Star Wars, but I know alot of people write fanfiction for it. Seems like if he's a book-only character, the entry would be vastly improved by a listing of the books he's in. Rhymeless 07:41, 13 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. And don't shorten it. Everyking 12:58, 13 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Discuss article length etc. on the talk page. Andrewa 20:44, 13 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Andrewa is right. I personally would lean towards the "don't trim" policy--as I was told soon after I got here, "it's Wikipedia policy not to remove information". Meelar 23:38, 13 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, but it should be made clear in the article that he only appears in those certain secondary works (unless there are other sources). Fredrik 19:38, 14 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete: useless pseudoinformation; another one for the fan sites. If kept, cut it back to one paragraph. Wile E. Heresiarch 20:01, 14 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. "Wikipedia is not paper" argument. If people want to know about Corran Horn, why should they only get a couple of lines - the argument is silly - all pages should eventually turn out this long, so the reverse argument that "other pages are shorter" is hardly valid. • Comment: I added a partial list of books that Corran Horn has appeared in (as well as copy-edited and posted a plot detail warning). Jonel 05:35, 18 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. BL 07:58, Apr 19, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep and do not shorten. The length of any article will be a function of the interest of the writer, not the interest of any given reader. The reader can stop reading when they have had enough. Lack of interest by some readers in not a valid justification for deleting or truncating. mydogategodshat 15:46, 19 Apr 2004 (UTC)
