Since this photo is typically used to represent the CITY of HENDERSONVILLE, as well as the officially-recognized Main Street Historic District in central Hendersonville, you might want to consider using instead a photo of the CURRENT and NEW, much-larger Henderson County Courthouse.

Last Female Lynching[edit]

Henderson County is nationally famous for only one event - the alleged last lynching of a woman in the USA. Mrs Mary Johnson Clay and her husband Frank were murdered in East Flat Rock on 19th November 1957. The exact circumstances are unclear. Cassandra
