Citation needed[edit]

He later became Bishop of Thessalonika and died a martyr.

  • Reference in article is too recent. Who in church history was the first to claim that Silvanus became bishop?

Silvanus is probably the same person as Silas, also mentioned in various places in the New Testament.

  • Who says that is probably the case? Here recent academic references are okay.
