Create New List[edit]

It would make sense if all the elephants, hippos, rhinos, mammoths and such like were placed into a new list titled "List of Fictional Pachyderms". Deltasim (talk) 07:38, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It might, but for now I'm attempting to move them all into one list, if there's enough to split the article I would prefer, if possible, to solely have List of fictional rhinos, List of fictional hippos, list of fictional mammoths etc. Ncboy2010 (talk) 12:08, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Three Notable Examples[edit]

Due to the presence of a link to the main list of ungulates in literature, the existing table should be cut down to three notable examples. I suggest Bambi, Eeyore, Rudolph remain, while the rest can go. Any comments. Deltasim (talk) 18:33, 23 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

From the look of it, the only characters that are covered by the list of ungulates in literature that are not covered by the list of fictional ungulates are Faline and Rannoch. Considering that the list of fictional ungulates in literature is only ~2.3k in size (only about double the size of a stub), that the list of fictional ungulates is only ~6.4k, and that the point at which we should be considering a split is ~40k, I think Ncboy2010's original creation of ungulates in literature as a split from this article was a mistake. I think we should re-merge the two articles. Specifically list of fictional ungulates in literature should be merged into List of fictional ungulates. -Thibbs (talk) 13:50, 25 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Cetaceans[edit]

Should we add whales, dolphins and porpoises to the list, or should they be in a separate list that's a subsidiary to this list? Cetaceans are also classified as ungulates, despite lacking hooves. --Uptherial (talk) 16:56, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
