2004 comment[edit]

I'm inclined to continue referring to the office-holders as Prime Minister, at least post-1848. We should probably dredge up some kind of description of the office, maybe some notes about how after 1870 it often combined with the Chancellor. Mackensen 01:56, 15 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Chief Minister ?[edit]

I quite don't understand the "Chief Minister of Prussia, 1792 - 1848" line. The office was named State Chancelor (Staatskanzler) from 1807 until 1850, and after that it became that of Minister-President (Ministerpräsident). 85.216.78.129 10:15, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ministerpräsident, Staatsminister and Staatskanzler[edit]

@Joy and GermanJoe: In the light of concerns raised here, as well as on the Lottum talk page, I have decided to remove all pre–1848 officeholders from the list and keep only those who, beyond any dispute, held the office of Minister President of Prussia. If you find this to be too radical, or if you think that some other solution would be more preferable, let we discus it here, but I really see no other way to resolve this issue, without sources which can clarify the 1822–1848 situation. --Sundostund (talk) 20:38, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I would prefer a replacement with an explanation in the history section to a blanket removal. In case of von Wylich und Lotum it's fine to drop him as insignificant, but there's also von Hardenberg who seemed to wield as much power as the later officeholders. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 21:06, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
