Lionfish?[edit]

i dont know if this is a dumb question, im not very familiar with sushi. I want to know if there is any type of sushi that uses or contains lionfish?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 196.40.30.121 (talkcontribs) 04:16, 31 May 2004.

Conidering they're venomous, probably not. Bentu 00:55, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Apparently "When properly filleted, the naturally venomous fish is safe to eat" according to the Lionfish article: Pterois#Lionfish_as_Food_campaign Nnewton (talk) 03:14, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Addition to list: mategi[edit]

Suggested addition to the list: mategai--razor clam—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.103.19.7 (talkcontribs) 06:30, 20 November 2005.

It's done. Bentu 00:56, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

All lowercase???[edit]

Anyone know why most of these items are in lowercase? Maybe someone could run this page through some bot or macro and remedy this... --travisthurston + 03:46, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know about bots, but I sure can fix it manually. Bentu 00:55, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The items were in lower case, I suspect, because when roman letters are used to write the names of Japanese nouns, there's usually no capitalisation. BoundaryRider (talk) 10:11, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Books[edit]

Updating as much of this article as I can, using two books - by no means exhaustive, not yet. Challenger l (talk) 01:18, 28 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Aburi sushi?[edit]

I can find countless restaurants with this as part of their name - but none of the reference materials I have or have dug into mentions it, even once, so far. Challenger l (talk) 12:26, 6 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Finfish[edit]

I am considering reorganizing the finfish section - there has been a small attempt made to mention different types of finfish meat, and I am planning to reorganize them on that basis, using the references I have available whenever possible. Challenger l (talk) 02:04, 10 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Forget it - there are just too many items without any clear idea as to how to organize them by the finfish meat criteria - and quite a few that fit no category whatsoever, aside from finfish. Challenger l (talk) 06:20, 13 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Revision 2/18/2016[edit]

Alright - spent a fair amount of time in books and such trying to get every ingredient sourced properly, or merging ones that were just a preparation or variation on something that was already there. Challenger l (talk) 03:36, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Regional Styles?[edit]

Why is Regional Styles on the list and specifically Canada? This seems like it's better suited to the main article on Sushi, not the list of ingredients. Challenger l (talk) 20:58, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
