pontianak[edit]

Tiyanak connection[edit]

The pontiyanak is a woman who died before giving birth while the tiyanak is an unborn child whose mother died before giving birth. I just thought there might be an interesting link between the two. My references on Philippine mythology does not show any link between the two. Maybe on your mythology, you could find such a relationship. --Lenticel ^(talk) 05:25, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong Title[edit]

This article isn't correct. The Pontianak isn't a woman that died in child birth. A Pontianak is a child that died in childbirth. Completely vague[edit]

Something ain't right here. Initially it is said that the pontionak is the spirit of a woman who died during pregnancy while the lang suir is the spirit of a woman who died during Labour. So far so good.

Then under the section 'Lang Suir' is says that the pontianak is the ghost of a CHILD who died during birth and the Lang Suir a ghost of a woman who died together with her CHILD during labour.

So, which one is it?

Ghost or corporeal?[edit]
