Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Possibly offensive images

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This category is bound to stir up edit wars/controversy because of the frustratingly nebulous "offensive" epithet. What use the category has is beyond me, other than legitimating someone's offense at an image. A number of policy proposals are under discussion, such as Wikipedia:Image censorship and Wikipedia:Graphic and potentially disturbing images. Suffice it to say, image tagging per "offensiveness" will not become policy anytime soon. Oh, and quite POV. TIMBO (T A L K) 05:17, 1 Feb 2005 (UTC)

  • Delete. We have no consensus on tagging of offensive or possibly offensive images, and this is just another invitation to POV pushers to edit war. --Tony Sidaway|Talk 09:19, 1 Feb 2005 (UTC)
  • Delete. All images are likely to be offensive to someone. What are we going to do, set up a committee to decide which images are OK and which ones aren't? Grutness|hello? 09:23, 1 Feb 2005 (UTC)
  • Delete. I'm with the POV-ness comments. — OwenBlacker 12:45, Feb 1, 2005 (UTC)
