Curling railway stations[edit]
Following fairly extensive research I have added three of the railway stations so far discovered that were built to transport curlers to bonspiels, etc. Rosser Gruffydd 10:03, 17 February 2019 (UTC)
Adding 'Team' section[edit]
I intend to create a new section titled 'Team' soon. I'm planning on it having two subsections, one called 'types of teams' to briefly describe the different team formats such as open, men's, women's, and mixed and the second being 'positions' to briefly describe skip/vice-skip and the throwing order. A lot of these topics are lightly covered throughout this article but spread all over and I think it is important to consolidate the info into its own section and it would clean up some of the other sections. Mixed curling has its own article (Doubles curling was just split off of it) but would be merged into the 'types of teams' subsection, there was consensus on the Mixed curling talk page that it doesn't need its own article. Anyone have thoughts/suggestions/objections to this idea? - A202985 (talk) 17:49, 13 April 2019 (UTC)

Lock[edit]
Hello. I have 2 questions:
- How can I Extended Protect this Wikipedia Page? (I'm worried vandals will hit it like in 2018).
- Why is this page not already Extended Protected?

- Hi @SteelerFan1933: - you can request protection for the article at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. Regards, PKT(alk) 20:37, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
Directional Sweeping[edit]
Much of the writing about sweeping is now out of date. Sweeping can be done to make the rock curl farther, straighter, or curl more. If you watch a professional game you will often see only one sweeper sweeping (and who is sweeping might change part way down the ice). This is done if the weight is fine, but they want to affect the direction (as this is determined by what side of the rock's direction of curl the sweeping is coming from). 2604:3D09:C7F:95C3:9064:1C69:348F:2C08 (talk) 06:33, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
- You are right OP. What we have is the basic or maybe introductory that many people will get to curling, but it does get a lot more complicated. It already has a citation tag, I'm worried about how many people have written on this, an will look some sources on this. Happy Editing--IAmChaos 07:58, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
- Came here to post this. The sweeping section is incredibly dated. Does anyone have any good citations to use to update it?
- Stuff that should be included:
- -Sweeping can make the rock curl more
- -Sweeping can make the rock travel straighter
- - Sweeping can make the rock go further
- - Knifing technique
- - Sweepers stand behind the rock, and sweep almost parallel to the rocks direction (but the angle off parallel makes a big difference). 2604:3D08:248B:9400:85E0:F435:EC8B:9B26 (talk) 04:29, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
Size of curling stone[edit]
I don't feel comfortable editing an article, but someone should double check the size of curling stones. The article says the maximum circumference of a stone is 11 inches which would make the diameter 3.5 inches. That's obviously wrong. 2600:1014:A005:2A4B:8C88:7CD1:6BFC:EA1E (talk) 03:56, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
