Untitled[edit]

The use of Lemuria, together with other mythological continents such as Atlantis, was used by the Theosophy Association, when it first moved into British India. The belief of such an ancient land later became picked up by other metaphysical groups over in the West.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.87.227.106 (talk) 18:43, 26 March 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Fakelore?[edit]

"According to legend, the inhabitants of this lost Pacific continent who survived its disappearance beneath the waves fled to Mt. Shasta in Northern California, where according to local legend, they remain today, living inside the volcano." The combination of European "lost continent' legend material with Native American (?) local legend of dwellers in the volcano bears the earmarks of synthetic fakelore. The editor who added this also suppressed the reference to Theosophy. Good? --Wetman 02:05, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can any published source be offered for this unsourced "legend"? --Wetman 20:24, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
