Perhaps Wikitheft is a specific Wikicrime. But let's not dwell too much on the negative side of things. If this page is going to help develop Wikilove (and I think it might), it's going to be by making negative comments briefer, more concise, more dispassionate (I guess that means less passionate but somehow I like the other phrase better). I would like to propose an additional time of wikicrime - the wikipoach. This is when a paid or advertised service uses articles from the wikipedia. While not actually criminal or unethical it is a bit lazy. Pspealman 01:52, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Confession of wikicrime in Col. Sabow case[edit]

I am posting to publicly recognize that I committed a wikicrime in the Colonel James Sabow article before it was blanked and rewritten. My desire for wikijustice and my m:transwikian editing philosophy caused me to edit inappropriately in the hope of learning wikijustice by perpetrating its opposite. Please accept my apologies. Merge[edit]

Just merge this into WP:Glossary. This doesn't really serve any purpose as a separate page, and since most of it is rehash of other guidelines, it can just be compressed down into a 1-2 sentence definition, e.g. "Intentional commission of or a clear pattern of editing behavior that runs afoul of Wikpedia policies against vandalism, tendentious editing, disruptive editing, removal of properly sourced material against consensus, insertion of spam, self-aggrandizing claims, unverifiable claims, unsourced accusations about living people, ..." and just link to extant policies. — SMcCandlish Talk⇒ ʕ(^Õل^ō)ˀ Contribs. 01:47, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agree with merge rationale and not totally opposed to redirecting this to WP:Glossary, but I'm kinda siding with keeping this page as is for now, if nothing else than to serve as a navigational aid for new users. Considering this has a history that dates back to 2004 it's got some historical value as well, and although the term "WikiCrime" isn't really in common use on enwiki it has been in use for quite a while on other wikis. -- œ ^™ 08:52, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
