Back to talking about the article[edit]

Someone might want to work on making this article focus more on Frederick's reign, and move the succession crisis to a separate article. --BlueMoonlet 17:56, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I understand your point and the succession crisis is described elsewhere as well. However, the death of the Oldenborg dynasty was an extremely important and dominating feature of his reign, as everybody knew that war would likely follow his death. Indeed, the resulting war was the most crushing military defeat in Danish history. Valentinian (talk) / (contribs) 23:45, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The 'succession crisis' section needs some cleaning up. Part's of it seems to repeat itself. GoodDay 00:20, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Monarchical Styles Infobox[edit]

This infobox, besides looking like a gaudy wine label, doesn't have any practical use in the biography. It's a bit silly (and not at all reverent) to address a Danish monarch in English, especially when he has been in his tomb for a long time. I'm going to remove it, as happened on the Christian VIII of Denmark page. Glatisant (talk) 15:15, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

His lost daughter?[edit]

Does anyone read any of this books on this article? Or does have more info on this?

Sounds very dubious. The books appear to be published by lulu.com, which is a vanity publisher. DrKiernan (talk) 14:50, 27 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
