I thought Hästveda marknad was the second biggest one after Kivik. Should be checked. Bvalltu 18:58, 10 Jun 2004 (UTC)

I was referring to the traditional Skåne markets i.e. those with quite a long history. The Kiviks Marknad has a history from medieval times, the Sjöbo Marknad started in 1864 and the Hörby Marknad in 1748. Kivik has over 100 000 visitors (www.kiviksmarknad.com), Sjöbo has around 150 000 (www.sjobo.se/sjobomarknad.htm) or 125 000 (www.skanskamarknader.com), Hörby has around 100 000 (get.to/horby-marknad)

The Hästveda has 90 000 (www.skanskamarknader.com) or 100 000 (www.hastvedamarknad.se/historik.htm), but has only been active for 22 years ("old" version from 1870).

The number of visitors can be discussed of course, you find some different numbers from different sources.

I think Kivik deserves it's own entry, considering it's long history, it's importance as iron to viking age trading center and it's many prehistorical monuments (Kings' Tomb, the stones at Bredarör etc). Anyone feel differently?
