Proposed replacement? To be held in a stadium that was designed, but never built? A completely non-notable, stunningly minor footnote to Nazi Germany. - Kenwarren 14:08, Aug 1, 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete: If it's true, then this fact could be put at the end of the article on the 1936 Olympics or some spot in Nazi. However, if it's true, it's pretty darned minor. It could also be in the Albert Speer article. Geogre 16:44, 1 Aug 2004 (UTC)
  • oddly enough I can't find any evidence of any "Aryan Games", proposed or otherwise, in English or German. The stadium mentioned is real enough, and was actually construction and might make a good article. Abstain pending futher investigation. --Ianb 17:29, 1 Aug 2004 (UTC)
    • The stadium that Speers proposed building was never constructed, though the foundations were excavated. See here and here for more. I can only find a couple of references to the "Aryan games" mentioned, according to which they were indeed intended to replace the Olympics. This was in part due to the victories by Jesse Owens at the 1936 Olympics, apparently. (If you can't beat them, exclude them, I guess.) - Kenwarren 18:38, Aug 1, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, put on cleanup list & ask for further substantiation. Minor footnotes about the Third Reich are encyclopedic. Appropriate policy for footnotes in general is to have a short blurb & links to bigger topics. Wile E. Heresiarch 19:34, 1 Aug 2004 (UTC)

  • Keep, redirect to Albert Speer#First Architect of the Reich. (And remove self-link.) --Benc 04:15, 2 Aug 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, but I'd like confirmation of the facts. -- Error 01:51, 5 Aug 2004 (UTC)
