Untitled[edit]

Since Scholastica is being introduced as a, it is surprising that a summary of what St Gregory says about her has not been given. Am I the only one who has never been prompted by any riot to remember her? Or, if the riot is historically so significant, should not perhaps the religious bits be left out, just a mention that it happened to erupt on this particular feastday?

This part of the article is largely redundant with St. Scholastica riot. I'm going to delete some of it and just leave a "see also" link. I'll also try to find more about St Scholastica herself to add. --Jim Henry | Talk 15:00, 23 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

category question[edit]

should Scholastica be added to Category:Medieval women? Cantara 21:04, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Patron of...?[edit]

As a layperson who came to this page looking for some information, I have found that the following sentence is unclear to the reader who is not familiar with the topic (eg, me):

  • St. Scholastica is the patron saint of convulsive children, nuns, storms, and against rain.

Is she the patron saint for storms but against rain? It doesn't seem logical.

Is that correct, or should this sentence be rewritten to read "St. Scholastica is the patron saint of convulsive children and nuns, and against rain and storms"? MIP | Talk 11:08, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I find it says that she is 'invoked to storms and rain,' I am not completely sure. TaylorCat123 (talk) 17:16, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

story issues[edit]

The story of Scholastica and Benedict confuses whether the brother was at his sister's convent, or she at his monastery. And the story needs a citation. --71.62.85.99 (talk) 11:32, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I slightly agree. Most stories state Benedict visits her in her convent, if that answers your question TaylorCat123 (talk) 14:14, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sibling debate[edit]

It says only that Scholastica is Benedict's sister. From other resoureces, I've read of Scholastica being Saint Benedict's twin sister. Which is correct? — Preceding unsigned comment added by TaylorCat123 (talkcontribs) 17:21, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
