Actor[edit]

Definitely one of the all time greatest actors ever. His screen presence and rather obvious sense of humor were hard to equal. I first saw him when I was a kid. He seemed very creepy in his roles, with a certain unpleasant "gay" streak, which made him especially memorable and stand out from the crowd though. In later years I found the same roles quite fascinating and a definite tongue in cheek attitude came through, which I never saw anybody else do in the same way. His way of portraying those odd character bits that teeter tottered on the fulcrum of lovable to slimey made for truly outstanding studies of human nature. Versatility was no problem for him, like his entirely different characters say in ... "You Live Only Twice" and his guest appearances in the Sherlock Holmes TV series with Jeremy Brett in the title role. Looking him up just now and finding that another good companion of my youth has been gone for five years already leaves me with a deep sense of loss for one of the great talents and personalities of our time. Another name that goes into my "Wanted" list for my DVD collection!

  • Oppose especially with two similar spellings and dab pages. Vegaswikian 20:06, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - much as I admire the actor, I think the structure that we have now is best. (There's less than 50 links to the dab page, and not all are him. If this remains here, I'll have a go and correcting the links.) -- Beardo 06:03, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose DNB has two more of them. Septentrionalis 21:24, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I withdraw my request (that was opposed anyway) and have fixed the links problems. All links referencing the actor now direct to the article on the actor. I also created a few more items for people found in WP articles. A problem remains with the diplomat. Str1977 (smile back) 14:55, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Assistant director MIS[edit]

Someone has added "Charles Gray (Assistant Director, MIS), A delicious conundrum of humble intelligence, royal superiority, and altruistic hedonism; slightly shaken and served with a tiny bit of irony" - very POV, uncited and no links.

I guess he might be this one - http://www.govtech.net/govcenter/solcenter/index.php?id=97850 - but unless he deserves his own page, I don't think we need mention him here. -- Beardo 00:59, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
