Cultural references[edit]

The Squeaky Voiced Teen jumps off Geezer Rock, screaming, "Why did they cancel Futurama?" Futurama was Matt Groening's other animated sitcom (about a pizza delivery boy from 1999 who gets locked in a cryogenic freezer, wakes up in the year 3000, befriends a cyclops named Leela and an alcoholic robot named Bender, and starts a new life as a delivery boy for his future nephew's interplanetary delivery service) that premiered in 1999 and was cancelled in 2003 due to low ratings on FOX (caused by FOX pre-empting the show and constantly changing its timeslot). Since then, Futurama has had all four seasons released on DVD, four made-for-DVD movies released (and aired on television), and is in syndication on Comedy Central (after Cartoon Network stopped airing reruns of the show in 2008).

Nostradamus reference?[edit]

One of the bullies - probably Kearney - after seeing Mr. Burns alive was wondering whose skull was he drinking beer from. It is said that drinking wine out of Nostradamus's skull will grant the person Nostradamus's ability to see in the future. Fraudcast News, the book[edit]

Hotairhead (talk) 15:21, 12 September 2012 (UTC)I'm the author of Fraudcast News - How Bad Journalism Supports Our Bogus Democracies (http://fraudcastnews.net/) The name came to me independently of the Simpsons TV show, even though I'm an occasional fan. I drew inspiration from the William Hurt film Broadcast News and corrupted it to suit my own project. I discovered the Simpsons episode of the same name only later, once I'd got well down the production route. I would like to have a mention of this book included in the Fraudcast News Wikipedia entry and/or create a separate entry. I don't want to be some ugly, secret self-promoter though so I'd be grateful for some advice on how best to do this or to get someone else to do it. Any advice?[reply]
