Wondering how to edit this U.S. City Entry?

Roger Purcell controversy[edit]

I could have sworn that I commented previously. Nonetheless, that whole entry is ill-formatted, poorly written enough to be somewhat confusing and contradictory, and comes far short of the necessary sourcing for something which undoubtedly falls within BLP. That could possibly explain why people keep trying to delete it from the article. I would go so far as to call the episode a pimple on the ass inasfar as Houston's history is concerned. Certainly the Miller's Reach fire, which in comparison is given very short shrift in the article, was of far, far greater significance. RadioKAOS  – Talk to me, Billy 08:08, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

KAOS...I took it out. It had been there since 2010 and it undoubtedly was a BLP vio. The only reference was to a political Wiki. What baffles me is how it has stayed so long. Gtwfan52 (talk) 08:29, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It was well-reported, BTW. I doubt that any media outlets aside from newspapers would still have the story on their website, however. The dash cam video was even a YouTube sensation du jour. From what little attention I've paid to this, I gather that someone is determined to keep it in the article. Whether to defame Purcell, or because the existence of the Ballotpedia article is good enough evidence of notability in their eyes, is unclear. Really, Houston is like any other small town that only has a police department because it has a highway running through it, travelled mostly by non-residents. Pronounciation[edit]

Considering there are two ways to pronounce Houston --- either (/ˈhjuːstən/ HYOO-stən) like the city in Texas or (/ˈhstən/ HOW-stən) like the street in Manhattan --- would it be worth specifying which pronounciation is used for this city? (I don't know which one is correct myself). 209.165.166.193 (talk) 18:55, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Mistaken flag link[edit]

Is there a way to remove the link to Flag of Houston in the infobox, since it links to the flag of Houston, Texas? It appears to be part of the infobox template. Raymond1922 (talk) 02:03, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
