A play on my initials and that we were working together on a database system for a research lab at the time, Database is a nickname I received from a friend and coworker. Since around 1978, I've been working in some way in computer and network software, operations or support, along the way earning a BS in computer science from the University of Southern California. While baptised in the Episcopal church and being exposed to evangelical denominations while growing up, I didn't become a christian until 1986. For a number of years, my wife and I held a leadership position in a non-denominational church. We live together with our two sons in Southern California.
Interests[edit]
Since the 2000 (United States) presidential elections, my interest in politics and government issues has grown and I've been learning about the origins of US government, constitutional issues and how we got to the present state from our originally limited federal government. I've played a number of musical instruments over the past thirty years and enjoy a wide variety of music.
