Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Judaism/People template

I was thinking of making a Tanach-person template to put at the top of each Tanach-person's page (a la the "taxobox" used in, e.g., Eurasian Bullfinch). It would look something like this:

     Isaac
2048-21xx
AM, acc. to Jewish tradition
     ----
Father  | Abraham
Mother  | Sarah
     ----
Spouses | Rebekah
Children| Jacob, Esau
     ----
primarily in: Genesis chap. xx-xx

Or, alternatively, to not do that but instead make a series of small family trees to put at the bottom of Tanach-persons' pages; e.g., one tree for the family from Adam to Noah, one from Naoh to Abraham, one from Abraham to Jacob (including Laban, et al.), one from Isaac to a couple of generations down (say, including Esau and Jacob's respective kids), one from Levi to Aharon's grandkids, one from Judah to David, one from David to the last Davidic king, etc.

(I might add that certainj Tanach persons already have templates; e.g., each of the shoftim (e.g., Othniel) has two (!) templates with links to preceding and subsequent shoftim. However, I don't know of any genealogical such.)

The question then arises: should people mentioned only in commentaries/midrashim be included in the boxes? (E.g.: Osah/Otah, Levi's wife.) —msh210 00:30, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)
