Untitled[edit]

Instantnoodle asked me to have a look at your newly looming revert war. There is a fair amount of redundancy in the category links here. I think it is good practice to link one step up and one step down but not to have multiple links + multiple steps up and down. Another issue is the doubling up of two categories which appear to be identical in intention re worldwide airports.

My suggestion is that this article links upwards only towards Airports of PRC , that any articles on the heliports link directly into the category of heliports + into this category, as heliports appears to be some special thingy. The Airporst of China category then links into oneonly of the two worldwide categories and you take the good opportunity to merge both worldwide ones into one. Make sure taht you take care of all links.

Have fun.... Refdoc 20:32, Mar 14, 2005

Mmm..I'm proposing to have category:Airports of the People's Republic of China renamed category:Airports of mainland China. Macau is a special administrative region. Civil aviation is part of its autonomy, and it concludes bilateral aviation agreements on its own right. Flights from Macau to airports in mainland China are international flights.
Please also comment on Huaiwei's most recent edit with category:Airports of Macau. Thanks. — Instantnood 20:49, Mar 14, 2005 (UTC)

I do not think this is really a new proposal, but rather a long ongoing battle between you two in which I do not want to be involved. I must say though the state is called People's Republic of China and therefore the former makes a bit more sense (to me)- also I think there had been a vote on the matter, so it woudl probably be sensible to simply stick to teh general consensus however much it grates. Anyway, the current state of multiple links upwards (and several steps at the same time) is unsatisfactory IMHO Refdoc 21:02, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)

this is a ridiculous category. there will never be more than one airport in macau, the single one they have nearly doubles the amount of dry land when they did the reclamation to create it. SchmuckyTheCat 01:09, 15 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  • I didn't see the edit war that this went through before listing it on cfd. I notice in the edit war that Instantnood removed the category that previous concensus put it in. Is that good faith? SchmuckyTheCat 03:35, 15 Mar 2005 (UTC)
