Um... am I being dim, or did the explosion happen before the mine was actually opened (explosion 1892, mine opened 1899)? --Stemonitis 13:51, 16 Mar 2005 (UTC)

The mine wasn't opened in 1899, it's ownership was transfered. I haven't got a date for its opening but I suspect that it is reasonable to assume that it was some time prior to 1892! Perhaps I should re-name this article Beddstemonitis ? Velela 14:31, 16 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I hope not; bedd = "grave"! Anyway, maybe changing "and became" to ", which became" would solve the ambiguity? Or maybe I'm the only one to read it wrong. Stemonitis 14:43, 16 Mar 2005 (UTC)

That sound fine - I'll fix it up. And yes, I realised bedd was wrong almost as soon as I had pressed save - not sure what the right word is ? Velela 14:51, 16 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I'm going to change the page later today so that there will be more on Tondu as a village as it is today (is it a large village or a small Town? - It's certainly smaller than Aberkenfig). I think it might be better to move the Parc Slip stuff into a new page - "Parc Slip Disaster" I live in Tondu so we'll get some first hand information in...--Luccent 15:48, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, quite obviously I haven't done it yet but I'll get around to it once I've finished exams :) --Luccent 16:42, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have quite a lot early industrial history which I hope to add soon. I shall try to integrate this with the existing text. I hope no one will object! Budhen 21:49, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent stuff. No only will there be no objection but hopefully plenty of encouragement! -- Velela (talk) 22:00, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks! Budhen (talk) 17:38, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
