Ben Hourigan is the founder and editorial director at Hourigan & Co., a consultancy providing writing, editing, publishing, and web development services to organizations and individuals. He works regularly for The Economist Group as a freelance editor.

He was previously the manager of the digital media division at at Architecture Media, publisher of magazines including Artichoke (magazine), Landscape Architecture Australia, and Houses (magazine), and the editor at the Centre for Independent Studies, a libertarian think-tank based in Sydney. Ben’s writing has been published in a range of venues, including The Age, News Weekly, Australasian Drama Studies, and the IPA Review. He has given lectures at RMIT and at the University of Melbourne, where he has also tutored. He has been interviewed on Melbourne radio station 3LO, and for articles syndicated in the Christian Science Monitor and USA Today.

He has a BA (Hons) in Asian Studies and English from the University of Melbourne, and an MBA from the University of New England.

He is the author of two novels Kiss Me, Genius Boy and My Generation’s Lament, and maintains a website and blog at http://benhourigan.com.
