A list of British postage stamps would be a long list indeed. Stamp catalogue published illustrated, annotated lists. If this is not a text dump, the title needs to be adjusted: List of British postage stamps in my collection or List of some British postage stamps selected for this list. Something that delimits the list --an important point for all Wikipedia lists. Wetman 00:37, 28 Aug 2004 (UTC)

About 2,000 entries if it were complete, far from the longest in WP :-) (at 6,000+, the Russian list is much scarier). I'm still pondering what to do with this list; one could always fall back to the default "article-worthy" stamps only, maybe 100 or so. Stan 04:39, 28 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Yeh, but to make it worthwhile, we need pictures of some of them. For my own purposes (as a teacher) I was hoping to find pictures of the regional definitives here, to show how the Scottish, Irish and Welsh ones have emblems in the corners. And (a fascinating point for foreign students) that Britain is the only country which doesn't put the country name on the stamps. I would suggest we drop the words "list of" from the title and make this a text article on the history of British stamps, with some good examples listed and pictured. But I'm not expert enough to do it - I came here looking for your insights and so far they're not here! --Doric Loon 16:20, 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I think that the List of United Kingdom commemorative stamps page should be merged into this one as they cover pretty similar ground. Raichu2 (talk) 01:23, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I support this proposal. Headhitter (talk) 13:32, 4 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
