The nForce 3 chipset was designed by NVIDIA for use with the AMD Athlon 64 processor. It is an MCP or Media and Communications Processor. It was intended for the creation and sharing of digital media.

Networking on the nForce3[edit]

Some nForce3 chipsets contain a Gigabit Ethernet connection and Media Access Control (MAC) technology. Other versions contain a 100/10BASE-T Ethernet connection.
