Translation[edit]

Kazan, Astrakhan and Siberia and Tsardoms not Khanats. For editors: note that the history of two-headed eagle has several versions (Europe-Asia is just on of them and not official). Besides, Saint George is the patron saint of Moscow, that is why he there on the coat of arms. / maqs

Merger proposal[edit]

The articles on the coat of arms are generally rather short, so there should be no reason that one page could not discuss each of them on this one page. Also, it would be simpler for a reader to go to one page and see each and every historical period's emblems and arms. I know some may say clicking is not that difficult, but not all of the arms pages link to one another; if editors are unaware of the other articles, then surely readers are. One comprehensive article would also allow editors to better write a better article, rather than splitting their time and efforts amongst the various pages, and then negate the need to add duplicate information to each article to back-story time and again. "Emblem of the Russian SFSR"[edit]

Shouldn't it be a coat of arms and not an emblem? It follows the traditional rules of heraldry (unlike the emblem of the USSR proper, for example). It is also called a coat of arms (gerb) in Russian, albeit so is the aforemented Soviet emblem. 95.140.92.87 (talk) 19:59, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
