Trying to make sense of this[edit]

I deleted the second sentence in this paragraph because it is too convoluted to be comprehensible:

In 1892, Candler set out to incorporate a second company; "The Coca-Cola Company" (the current corporation). When Candler had the earliest records of the "Coca-Cola Company" burned in 1910, the action was claimed to have been made during a move to new corporation offices around this time.[1]

That deletion was reverted. Rather than deleting it again I put the call out for someone to figure out the intent and edit it to make sense.

Edit Request[edit]

Hello. I represent The Coca-Cola Company and would like to request some changes to this page. Requests are as follows:

1.Under the Criticism header, there is a quote by Bea Perez stating "and business won't be in business if we don't accommodate consumers."

Could we have this portion of the text removed? I feel like it's taken a bit out of context, as the full quote actually states, "Business won't be in business if we don't accommodate consumers. So as we change our bottling infrastructure, move into recycling and innovate, we also have to show the consumer what the opportunities are. They will change with us."

Here is a source for the full quote: BBC

2. After that quote, we would like to add the following information to the section:

"In January 2018, the company pledged to recycle a used can or bottle for every one it sells and to increase the amount of recycled content in its plastic bottles from 7% to 50% by 2030."

Sources to support: BBC, Bloomberg, CNBC

"That same year, it launched a universal bottle initiative in Brazil that gave discounts to customers who returned Coca-Cola bottles to retailers. The initiative resulted in Coca-Cola producing 1.8 billion fewer plastic bottles in Brazil in 2019. Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, and Panama later adopted the initiative. "

Sources to support: Beverage Daily, Packaging Europe, Packaging Europe, Ellen MacArthur Foundation

"In 2019, Coca-Cola announced that it would be selling all of its products in Sweden in 100% recyclable bottles, and it began rolling out fully recyclable packaging in the United States in 2021."

Sources to support: Bloomberg, Bloomberg

"Coca-Cola has also formed partnerships with Burger King, TerraCycle, Carrefour, and Loop to reduce plastic waste."

Sources to support: Forbes, Beverage Daily, Packaging Insights, Waste Today Magazine, Plastics Technology Online, Recycling Today

3. Also, the sentence that closes out the paragraph reads, " In February 2022, Cocal-Cola announced that it will aim to make 25 percent of its packaging reusable by 2030".

Please change "Cocal-Cola" to "Coca-Cola"

Thank you everyone for your help on this. PolarBear1886 (talk) 15:22, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, PolarBear1886. Regarding:
  1. I don't think the quote is out of context at all. Our reporting of the speech closely maches that of the BBC in context. The main takeaway for BBC was that Coca-Cola chose to emphasize consumers' preferences when outlining environmental targets. The BBC story is much more extensive in coverage about the 2020 Davos meeting than our encyclopedia can handle so we won't give the quote in full. That consumers will also change is a minor point in comparison, per the BBC. That being said, Coca-Cola's environmental targets are given by us as well.
  2. I do not think this section should list corporate promises any more than it does now. It gives a key goal announced recently that does not contradict any of the ones listed by you from earlier.
  3. This typo seems to have been fixed already.
Cheers. Other users might want to comment as well. – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 20:10, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Props for your ethics of not just changing it yourself as this is a conflict but requesting it in the talk page. 220.245.220.211 (talk) 06:37, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 7 February 2023[edit]

This is my first time submitting a request but it is a pretty small thing, i wanted to change this "Coca-Cola Starlight (2022-present) to Coca-Cola Starlight (2022-2022) because it has been discontinued on August 2022. Sorry in advance, but just wanted to help a little. JPhaseV (talk) 00:41, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

== In how many countries is Coke sold ? ==

There are at most 195 countries in the world today. So, per the first sentence of this Coke wiki, Coke can't be sold in "...over 200..." 98.151.50.152 (talk) 15:20, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
