Untitled[edit]

Either Baldwin appointed a 17 year old to his Cabinet or this article is mixing the 4th and 5th Barons - easy to do as they were both William Ormsby-Gore. Does anyone feel confident enough to separate out the two? Timrollpickering 00:15, 12 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Pop culture 'reference'[edit]

The article says: "A creature card in the collectible card game Magic: the Gathering is called "Evil Eye of Orms-by-Gore." Any reasoning behind this name is unknown, other than meaningless titular presence". If this is a meaningless coincidence then why mention it on the article? My knowledge of collectible card games is non-existant so I'm not sure if there is any chance that such a game would deliberately refer to a deceased Conservative peer but if the article itself doubts whether there is much of a link, then why bother including something so pointless? I'm going to leave it be for a while to see if anyone can expand but if not, I think it's going to be cut. Thank you, PamukSoundystem (talk) 17:03, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Having another look, it's obviously just some obscure geeky stuff that has nothing to do with Ormsby-Gore and is probably just a coincidence. Pop culture sections can just become a mess of obscure little coincidences like this, so I have decided to remove this part of the article altogether as it adds nothing to further our understanding of the actual subject of the article. But if it can be more closely and relevantly linked to Ormsby-Gore, please by all means reintroduce it. Thank you, PamukSoundystem (talk) 17:41, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
