Will MA[edit]
I am Will MA. I came across Wikipedia at a conference in May 2003. I found that very interesting but, in fact, I did not believe much in the principle. This year 2004 September, I decided to study Wikipedia. I read all the relevant papers. I register a login account here. I try to understand the people (users); the process (rules, policies); the technology (MediaWiki). I install three different wikis one by one. The first one is PMWiki. I still use it with my students for class and after-class discussions on projects, meetings, examination preparation etc. The second one is TaviWiki. The computer center of our college installed for me so that I could develop a better site for a long term basis. However, I found that there were lots of restriction in its expansion. After discussed with the technical team, I then now run the site "ChinaNewsInfo" with MediaWiki. It is the same pattern and functionality with Wikipedia and I would develop it for the coming few years.
