Big Cats are carnivores and tend to hunt solatary and kill animals from

the deer family.( such as Elk, Deer, Wildebeest, etc.)

because, aside from the carnivore thing, lions hunt in groups, and zebras aren't deer AFAIK.

Why is the ocelot listed as a big cat? Ocelots are not that big at all! Historicaly, the name Big Cat was used only for members of the Panthera genus. Species like Puma, Lynx and Cheetah are certainly big, but they were not listed among the Big Cats. However, recently some 'small' cats have been listed with the Panthera genus in one group: the marbled cat (Pardofelis marmorata) for example. Recent molecular analyses have shown that the Puma, Cheetah and Lynxes ARE related to each other, and to the marbled cat. So, the use of 'Big Cat' is making no sense, biologicaly.

(Sorry for my English, it's not bad, but also not perfect. It's not my mother tongue. I'm neither familiar with the Wikipedia 'rules' so I hope this is the correct way to 'talk' about an entry)
